How To Do The Fake Backheel In Soccer

Ronaldinho was one of the most dynamic soccer players of all time. No one ever knew what tricks or moves he would pull at any time in a game. One of his signature moves was the Fake Backheel.

This is actually one of his easier soccer tricks. Follow the steps below to learn how to do it yourself. If you’re nervous, try it in a pickup game first.

The Fake Backheel

Step 1

With the soccer ball on your right foot, shift your weight to your left leg and briefly hold the ball with the sole of your cleat.

Step 2

Then pull the ball back with the right foot so it goes behind you. Keep your head down as if to look at the ball.

Step 3

Then use the instep of your foot to pull the ball behind your left leg and look behind you. This makes your opponent think you are going to heal the ball to a teammate and will lean in that direction.

Step 4

At that moment shift your weight back to the right and drag the ball with you to the right. Now using your momentum accelerate off to the right.

Now Let’s See the Master Do The Fake Backheel Himself.
